Muscle tearing @ Ear/Jaw area?

Hey guys, my wisdom teeth are starting to come out (actually like 2-3 have already fully grown out) of the gum, and for a few months already, I've been feeling a lot of tension in the muscle above the jaw area. I'm not sure how I'd tell you the position-- put your finger under your ear lobes at the ridge, and there's the area.

Every time I feel the tension, I try to exercise the muscle a bit and open my jaw wide etc, try to stretch it, and often I can hear a really loud (because it's right next to my ear drums) tearing of something. This happens very often when i listen to music via earphones, so I'm trying to refrain from using my ipod.

I don't know if it's a wisdom tooth problem or a ear-drum problem. I'm a flautist and have always been at the receiving end of high-pitched piccolo notes during band pract, and it just so happens that the picc player sits on my right.

Any ideas? I haven't been able to check with doctors cos I've been busy with Os.

I had the worst experience taking out my wisdom teeth. All 4 out liow. The lower ones I remember was in the chair for 2.5hours dentist had to break the tooth into 3, can hear like bones cracking.

At the end of that one, I came home at that time my daughter was smaller, she wouldn't come close to me cannot recognise me, face swell lopsided.

But, it was necessary to remove... so don't live in constant pain take it out and be done with it.

Get it checked out, maybe with a GP first (cheaper alternative).

ENT specialist and dentist charges are probably higher than a GP, plus it is a 50/50 chance of either problem.

The doctor can verify or check that is either a) Ear got problem or b) jaw or gums or wisdom tooth area got problem.

When I had all my 4 wisdom tooth erupted fully, I used to get swollen or infected areas around my wisdom teeth.

Reason being, not enough room for the wisdom tooth to erupt properly and my other problem is that food or sometime hard stuff like nuts gets stuck around the area.

This makes it VERY prone to infection and swollen gums.

Don't wait too long, asap go see your GP.

Seriously? I always experience that and I actually love the feeling.
Do I have to start worrying since you brought it up?

PLEASE DONT go to your GP....go to POLYCLINIC.....

The difference can be in thousands of dollars saved....referrals from Polyclinic doctors meant Subsidized rates....

consult a medical specialist, instead of asking on the forums.

if it's just a sound, i would not be too worried, what you describe sounds like what happens during airplane flights sometimes. as to why, beats me.

if there is pain as well - please go asap.

My jaw is a tad loose so I've always had a 'pop' sound whenever I stretch my jaw. And the muscle aches that come along :S
But I've never heard a muscle tearing sound. Sounds painful. Sounds like you need professional help :S:S

Almost exactly like that, cept that the blockages during flights are higher up.

Just wanted comments on anyone who has / had similar problems. I don't believe my wisdom teeth are impacted-- they seem fine.
