my kits lens 18-70mm got this black spot on the bottom left after the drop. the black spot
is visible at 18mm - 24mm, anything beyong that range is invisible. also, i
notice that the right side of the image is blur compared to the left side. could it be fixed?

1) where can i fix my defective kits lens?
2) how much would it costs? private workshop n nikon.
3) would it be advisable to discard it n get a 18-105mm VR lens?

kam sia, :embrass:

probably the lens element inside dislodge...

the kit lens is cheap, probably the repair cost might be equal or more than the cost of a 2nd hand unit.

Thats a pretty unique way of presenting your problem, I think you can see the lighter side of it.

Repairing is not worth it, maybe its time to get another lens you fancy more.

You can still use this lens as a "special selective focus" lens for the fun of it. :)

very unique, special effect lense.

People pay thousands to get thin DOF (eg F1.2 lenses)

Can you help drop my lens so i can have thinner DOF?

how about remove some elements to make it more unique?

I dont like a lens with fewer elements. Glass too lightweight tak shook. Dropping lens is a new way to improve DOF, bokeh and composition. I like the tilt shift effect here of this kit lens. bar none.

if I'm not wrong, you are using Canon, still can use this Nikon kit lens, how about take over this lens from TS. make this little boy happy.

thats a good idea. But its a DX lens... got free vignette sommore!

ya, who want my kit lens, i sell u cheap cheap b4 i take my dad's rotan.

if not repairing, sell it off for spare parts.

likely an element inside has tilted due to impact.

Could it be the hood is not properly fixed?
Or you are using a "thick" filter at WA setting?

If it's really damaged, why sell if you can have it fixed for $40?
