guys, i need the following advise...

my kits lens 18-70mm got this black spot on the bottom left after the drop. the black spot
is visible at 18mm - 24mm, anything beyong that range is invisible. also, i
notice that the right side of the image is blur compared to the left side. could it be fixed?

attached is a photo for your reference.

1) where can i fix my defective kits lens?
2) how much would it costs? private workshop n nikon.
3) would it be advisable to discard it n get a 18-105mm VR lens?

Thats a pretty unique way of presenting your problem, I think you can see the lighter side of it.

Repairing is not worth it, maybe its time to get another lens you fancy more.

You can still use this lens as a "special selective focus" lens for the fun of it. :)

People pay thousands to get thin DOF (eg F1.2 lenses)

Can you help drop my lens so i can have thinner DOF?

how about remove some elements to make it more unique?
I dont like a lens with fewer elements. Glass too lightweight tak shook. Dropping lens is a new way to improve DOF, bokeh and composition. I like the tilt shift effect here of this kit lens. bar none.

likely an element inside has tilted due to impact.

Could it be the hood is not properly fixed?
Or you are using a "thick" filter at WA setting?

If it's really damaged, why sell if you can have it fixed for $40?
ok, thanks fatigue for fixing my lens.

great service!
