I've been stationed overseas...now I'm back for another year. Good to see you're still kicking and posting awesome meet ups.
See you guys soon.

Well, most pp would be worried about their camera & gears. but if u only shoot when it's sunny & dry,
you would be missing out a lot of photo opportunity.
Most advisble to use a camera rain coat. but i guess some ppl have some DIY method(s) kindly share here.

Some Waterproof Your Camera, DIY options:
1) Wrap your camera in plastic wrap.
2) ZipLock bag
3) get a waterproof disposable camera, just for this event.

I tried this event in Pattaya, in order to capture the fun, I was using a underwater camera. The other alternative is underwater case or water proof camera. With plastic bag don't can protect your camera.

Wikipedia pics shows some folks using high pump action water guns.

:-| Hope they don't get too festive at us.

Any more brave souls out there~

My camera is ready for this Sunday's Songkran! With camera raincoat & poncho...let get wet!!!
I will bring an extra set of clothing to change into after the event...

Anyway, we going to a Thai Temple, there might be some religious ritual there. it might not be as wet as expected.
But better to be prepared...

Love the quote on the shirt of the temple staffs:
"Avoid all Evil, Cultivate Good, Purify the Mind."
How many of us can do that?

Basically the Songkran celebration at the temple having Buddhist rituals
& Thai communal activities there in the morning.
The actual Water Splashing start 1pm; after lunch & when it's hot under the mid day Sun...
However, i had to rush over to Kallang Water Sport Center for Instagram #DBSMarinaRegatta event...
I passed by Golden Miles, so i try to grab a drink...without my camera raincoat on my camera...ppl pouring water from level 2 onto level one...and i tried to shoot this Cute Little Thai gal...she shot me with her water gun...
my camera is not weather-sealed but it survived...

Anyway, i get more WET later in Kallang River...
Sporty gal in black to me "we will TRY not to get u or ur cameraphone into the water..." sweats drop..
"TRYING" is not good enough for me...

if u truly wants to enjoy Songkran experience... nothing beats going to the country itself! Cos i believe the celebration in Singapore was rather toned down.

Went last year and truly enjoyed myself. Intend to bring my gf next year if schedule permits both of us.

Yup, agreed. Singapore's Songkran is fairly mild.
would love to go for the Thailand's Songkran soon, now that i am confident of waterproofing my stuffs...

but lot of ppl are just simply worry about getting their gears wet.
Which would means lost opportunity for great photo moments.
