shot this last sept with 55-250 on 50D. not sure the exif but i usually set at f8-f11 iso100, shutter about 1/200? not too sure but i know it is fast...
to help in focusing, i uses my live-view and the magnification on my live-view using manual mode

just shot yest and realise the moon actually moves quite fast if you use live view at 10x with 300m on crop sensor~

Yeah, got to compensate for the movement. Or anticipate.

I did a few shots few years ago.

I use a tripod with the lens tripod collar mounted and then, add a monopod fixed to the cam body. In this way, I get a very steady set up.

this is what i realise too, the moon is travelling pretty fast.

Initially i thought is my tripod unstable, causing the camera to tilt...
