tripod sure more stable, but more bulky to carry around.
monopod more compact, but you need some technique to use it :)
ofcource if you carry tripod I don't think you need monopod any more

Tripod for me, as I don't know how to handle a monopod. Furthermore, could not have a really long shutter speed (a few seconds, for example) when using the monopod. ;)

self standing monopod, not very stable, but couple with the KM 5D Anti-Shake, it rocks :cool: .

Not true, different situations have better uses for each type.

what kinda tour? group tour? photographic tour?

if group tour, get a monopod as i don't think the rest would wait for you (unless it's your whole family as a group)

if photographic tour, get a tripod, spend time to slowly fine tune ur shots, etcetc, as you hv all the time in the world..

cant use a monopod to take night shots... but its certainly more practical when shooting stage events
