Monopod for digicam and camcorder

Hi....
Need advice & recommendation on which monopod, QR adapter and head for my Canon powershot G2 and Sony DCRTRV10E, hopefully it can cost less than S$150 (with QR adaptor and head).

CP recommended Slik Pod 600 with Manfrotto 234RC monopod head @ $116, but I prefer a panning head such as what on Velbon UP-DXII (I don't like Velbon fixed head).

Can anyone compare betw Slik Pod 600 or Manfrotto 479-4B?

Also can Slik Pod 600 use Manfrotto accessories, such as SHOULDER BRACE FOR MONOPOD, SPIKED FOOT, SNOW SHOES,
MONOPOD BELT POUCH and RUBBER/SPIKED ADAPTOR FOOT?

Can Slik Pod 600 fix with Manfotto 200 Video Head Flat base, 128RC Video Head Flat Base - Micro with QR/Manfrotto 128RC NAT?

Manfrotto 479-4B CP quoted $60.

Slik Pod 600: 4 section 1.6m closed 54cm 0.6kg flip lock lever, titanium alloy, pivoting wrist strap
Manfrotto 479-4B: 4 section 1.54m closed 51cm 0.83kg load up to 10kg

Intend to buy one in these 2 days.

i am trying to figure out why you would use a panning head on a monopod - to pan with a monopod, all you have to do is swivel the whole monopod (i guess?)

As for choosing the between the two pods, there is hardly any diff. in specs (except weight) so it will come down to which one you feel more comfortable with.
