Hi, I am interested to see a out-door photo of a Model with glasses (glasses with lens).
How do we prevent the glare or reflection from the glasses when shooting with flash in the night?

use a multicoat pair of glasses?

i think direct flashing is confirm a no no... try to use as soft as diffused as possible kinda flash...

maybe also remember basic science: angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection?

try off-cam flashing? as DCA pointed out, as long as u use face-on flashing, u will get flare. ;)

you could get the model to wear contacts and a pair of lensless frames.

That's assuming you know where the normal is.

With the curved surface of normal specs, you'd get a reflection from almost any angle.

To answer the original qn, i second the multi-coated suggestion. i think the specs will look really unnatural with absolutely no reflection.

Hi all,
Thank you for contributing your expertise

Here is a summary of all your contributions:-
1. Multicoated glasses, no direct flash
2. Angle of incidence= angle of reflection
3. Try off-cam flash
4. Contact lens with lens-less frames
(unfortunately cannot apply, requested to shoot glasses with lens)
5. CP filter
6. Curve surface will reflect at any angles( oppose against pt.2)

Multicoated glasses would help...just off track a little, what if we
were to shoot those uncles and aunties (e.g. in a wedding dinner) who
do not have multi-coated glasses and some even have magnifying glasses.
How? :dunno: They could be our important models on that big occasion.

Any more contributions?
Really hope some of you can post a photo to elaborate your expertise.
Thanks in advance.

Most of the model shoot I know, if specs are required as part of the shooting, they will do it WITHOUT glass. Only the frame.

Thanks guys for your suggestion again
Think if the adv is on the lens, the lens become important for the spec.

Cheers
