Hi..

..some qns for those who r using the remote control ML-L3 for the D70, does the rc able to do like the on camera shutter where a person can half press the shutter to do an auto focus before doing a full shutter release ? :dunno: :dunno:

rgds

Don't think so.

You may want to AF your subject of interest first, then switch to manual. Click on the remote when you wanna take the pic.

Eveytime the camera goes on standby, the remote on the D70 gets turned off...lost a lot of good opportunities  ...press press remote nothing happened.

Anyway to leave the remote on for the camera??

I guess you need to lengthen the time for it to drop into sleep mode.

If your camera's on AF-S, pressing the remote's button causes the camera to do an AF before it shoots. No need for half-press. If it cannot lock onto a subject, it will not take the shot.

To shoot, regardless of whether it has focus, switch to manual focus or change the focusing mode to AF-C.

Item 25 in the custom menu allows you to set the length of time that the camera stays in remote, from 1min to 15min.

...oh ok...thought of using the RC as a vertical shutter alternative...may be stick a velcro at the base with the RC..
is it possible ?? ;)

probably not.. the RC sensor is located on the front right of the camera (opposite the AF assist lamp). So if you stick the RC on the base, it won't 'see' the signal

...thanks guys, that was helpful...

Not a bad idea...try it, it may work... :D

...can anyone out there with a D70 and the RC try the setup and feedback us..., the feedback will be good for me to decide whether to buy D70 or D100 or wait for the next D100... :) ;)

cannot lah..... the remote control sends the signal via Infra red. you need direct line of sight.
