not sure if i shld be even posting this thread but ever since i spent 2 mths (close to 2 mths) in melb for my poly attachment i didnt want to leave at all.
in fact in the last weeks i was getting increasingly moody and short fused.

when i came back i was so sad, normally when i am packing up to go home from a holiday i feel excited to go home but not in the case of melb.

i dunno waht i like abt melb but i can safely say i dont miss sg at all. somehow the food in sg didnt attract me anymore. even though sg is my birthplace, i simply love the life in melb i had..

i yearn so much for a trip to melb...and somewhat jealous or envious of others who are going to melb/aust..

Fret not...

After you complete your Dip you could;

a) If you are a gal - do an undergrad course downunder. Its going to be a wonderful experience. You literally have the entire of Aust at your doorstep. Can spend your weekends taking photos and party.

b) If you are a male - serve your NS and then do (a). :bsmilie:

Hope that brings a little smile to your face and cure your post-Melb depression :p

I liked Melbourne, especially all those guitar shops in Chapel street, but other than that - it was too busy for me.
My 2nd favourite place in Australia :)

Or (c) work illegally in a Chinatown restaurant washing dishes.

This may change your view about life in Down Under.

Ah Melbourne!!!

Yarra Valley (wine tastings), Carlton Brewery, Great Ocean Road, Chocolate Buddha (at Federation Square) for Udon!! :(

I love melbourne also... Will probably retire there if i have enough money..

Nice weather (erratic at times) and nice food (great italian food at lygon Street, Greek cakes and pastries at St Kilda, Beef noodle at Swanston Street, Viet food at Springvale).. Yummy!!

Great entertainment such as the as large as T2 - Crown Casino. Lots of excitement.

Ah melbourne. My home away from home. I was there for 2 years, working there. I loved it. People are friendly, nice mix of urban, open spaces and garden. Great mix of work and recreation and sports. Great scenary and beautiful land. Great food too :D ;p

Miss the stroll along yarra river, immersing in the heat of the fire throwing pillars outside crown during winternights... the daily 1 hrs tram ride to uni... sunday market in St. Kilda and Yarra Riverside, the weekly friday strike outside nike (fanny... these ppl have nothing much to do... good for photograph thou), weekly Safeway grocery shopping... once in a while crazy attemp wearing shorts only during a freezing winter night and stroll down the park... yea miss em all...

gonna go back one of these day... got my PR there...

the next 2 year - it was getting bored.
the final 2 year - I gotto left this place ASAP, packed and chow...came back and dun think I wanna go back there again.

Albiet that melbourne is a lovely city to live in and wandering around..MIx around u will have friends all over the world..I used to hang ou with HK...mized aorund with Taiwanese gal...play football with Europeana and even a Brazilian and school with australian...etc..etc..

I had been back from Victoria (Australia) for more than a year already but i still miss the place. Stayed for nearly 2 years in a nice seaside town, one hour drive away from Melbourne. Very very nice place. was so upset to leave.

Ah, Melbourne... the town I grew up in - my home town you could call it. Having been away for a while, I certainly do miss it.

Things I miss... the cosmopolitan atmosphere, the fantastic food (with such a great variety), the parks and gardens, the sporting spectacles, the "four seasons in one day" !

Did you go Warnambool? Out of the way, quiet-town but superb for photography..

that's good to know...
saving money for a trip there liao..be it for a holiday or study...my plans for new cam put on backburner..

Agreed (saving money for trip) ... better to go there with a P&S than to stay at home with a DSLR.

Ah, Melbourne ... lazy summers walking down St Kilda beach, the panic attack that comes the first time you mistakenly stop with all 4 wheels of your car on wet tram tracks, the unmarked police cruisers parked by the side of the neighbourhood roads with speed cameras, the thrill of driving down the scenic Great Ocean Road, watching the highway while your passengers ooh and aah at the sights, the hoons in their sin-bins making a racket on country roads at night, the weird feeling of doing a hook turn, the yummy porridge at Supper Inn at 4am after a night out on Chapel St, lime spiders on Lygon St ...
