Is mirror-lock up feature only suitable for shooting with tripod?
I have tried mirror-lock up while in Korea handheld, but using contiuous shooting mode to speed up opening and closing of aperture.
will upload pics for comments. (How to upload and paste pics here?)

I've never tried shooting with mirror lock-up handheld with my EOS 30, only with a tripod. Not sure if by handholding will it cause image blurness so i simply use a tripod with cable release.

Mirror lockup is used to minimise the shake caused by a snapping mirror. This is used in low light conditions so I don't see how you want to shoot without a tripod. Sure, it can work without a tripod, but at normal light conditions, you don't need to use mirror lockup.

MLU normally for macro or night shots where u want to minimise camera shake caused by mirror slap. Is there even a MLU mode for 300D?? unless you're using a hack?

Yes, I have done the hack, ver 1.1.1
Below are 3 shots taken with mirror-lockup and continous mode. It does help me to prevent camera shake. Not sure this what it use to be...
