Hi,

As per the title, I've quite a number of miniDV tapes of my children when they are very young (using Sony DCR-PC120E - and this device is still working perfectly).

Used to be able to transfer between PC/notebook & miniDV tape when firewire are available then.

Unfortunately, all my new PC/NB do not have such a ancient port/interface any more.

Currently, is there any hardware(s) available that is able to interface DV/firewire to USB and provide digital video transfer ?

Thanks in advance.

If your PC has a free slot, a PCI-e firewire card would be an option

it's a long shot but maybe you can approach those shops in sim lim square who do conversion services to dvd. maybe they still have a pc with a firewire card. they will be able to capture it to dv format for you direct to a hard drive supplied by you for a fee.

or a friend with a pc with a pci slot empty.....
