btw, my friend mentioned the turtles are underexposed due to the Matrix metering of the D40 "fooled" by the bright background...
(1) is it underexposed?
(2) If it is, how do i control the background without having it washed out while having up the exposure for the turtles?

Yeah.. i should have used circ polariser to cut the water reflection and glare...
maybe can give a few pointers so that the pic won't look very flat?

i think the techical side needs a little more practise. In terms of metering, exposure and the use of fill in flash.
As what DCA has said, i'm also not enforcing my preferance and style by cropping the original image. Just sharing with you what i feel about this image and how it may have been able to work out.
