Microsoft updates Windows without users' consent

It could be an error in programming.
That the company wants to correct.
If they bring attention to it, may give competitors chance to bad-mouth the company.
 

well, if it is just fine-tuning works without affecting privacy and usability, it's ok for me as an end-user.:)
 

A lot of software also have auto-update feature. But who can be sure what the program is doing to your computer?

precisely thats the point! what if the program is one that tracks what porn webbies u go to, so tat the engineers can go have a look too? :bsmilie:
 

i've encountered this on at least twice last year. My PC is always put to suspend and never turned off. There was 2 occassions that the PC restarted automatically while I was in the middle my work and lost several hours of work. The restart window said something like the system needs to restart for windows update to work properly. All the time with windows update OFF.

Just save your works regularly loh :)
 

install personal firewall to block auto update traffic loh.

then microsoft will learn their lesson with hundreds of their employees getting MC due to pschological trauma.

i think your windows update got problem. my 3 yr old Dell (with a recently spoilt battery) can never done that to me before... hmm
 

i've checked and my pc got the stealth updates. damn you microsoft!!! :angry: this is very much hacker's behaviour.
