Is using microdrive on the camera more battery exshausting compare to a CF card of the same size?

I got both microdrive and cf card. The microdrive work for 6 months and died but the first Cf card i bought is 3 years ago and is still functioning well.

battery comsumption is not a issued.

Only experienced it once before and that was almost 2 yrs ago. My then 340Mb MD flatted my batts after 3+ hours while my 128Mb CF lasted 5+. But they were used on 2 separate albeit consecutive days. T'was a Coolpix950 back then, in Hong Kong.

Read somewhere that MD does affect batt but have to go find the article... ;p
