You cannot understand how they feel unless you have been squeezed into a train like this... it happens on a daily basis in Shanghai metro as well..

I was there. And it was bad. Just one experience was enough to get me to review my working hours when I was there. Gotta admit - what I did was an immense privilege that few, if any Japanese, enjoy.

It is fairly embarrassing for them to turn up late at work, under any circumstances, and thereby their daily, squashed-up, commute.

After seeing that... make me appreciate Singapore's MRT more... at least we don't get squashed to the door... unlike what we see in Tokyo and (personal experience) in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
