MF Camera Recommendation

I am looking for a manual camera for my younger brother who is also keen into photography. (haha i can use too)
You guys can recommend a MF camera for him to start with?
(He likes the small size and looks for MF cameras)

Budget is max $400 with lens

When I first read the thread I thought MF means 'medium format'... :bsmilie:
If MF is manual focus, than there's quite a few he can get especially if he does not mind pre-owned (second hand ones). There are a few Olympus OM-10 for sale in Yahoo auction; also I saw a Pentax K1000 at the cash converter in Jurong East (the lens I saw has a bit of fungus) for $90.

how's it going?

i think a basic FM10 comes with the 35-70 f3.5-4.5 lens?
it should costs around S$300+. can't be more than S$300.

if u're tight on budget, yes, i guess this is the camera to get.
but if u're feeling a little rich, u can buy a 2nd hand FM2n + a 50mm f1.8 lens. that should cost u around S$550-600. S$550 is more likely.

but getting a 50mm f1.8 lens is not easy as i found out sometime ago. not many are willing to let go of this great lens.

must come into the Nikon family! waiting for you... hahaaa

you might want to consider taking a look at prime camera?
they usually have a few FM2n on display. FM10... not so sure though.

one thing with FM10... it feels 'plasticky'. and it is 'plasticky'.

it is comparatively lighter than FM2n, which i think is quite sad. because i can't get the right 'feel' when i held it. it is sad.
too light, is not suitable for me.

however, u should get a 'feel' of it first. u might just fall in love with it.

come into the NIKON family... come come...

a brand new Nikon FM10 + a 35-70 f3.5-4.6 lens?
i'm not too sure about the FE10 though. u might want to gather more info about it.
