Metering on the background

hi .....

hope somebody can help me with thiz .....

Letz say me wanna meter on the BG n not the subject. Me am uzing matrix metering.

Do me:

1) shift my camera away from the subject until the whole viewfinder iz filled with the BG

or

2) juzt make sure the focuz area that me have chozen iz filled by the BG

..... ?? .....

1. Shift the centre of your camera to the area of the background that you wish to meter from.

2. Hold down the SPOT meter button to get the reading for the area you intend to meter from.

3. Depress your shutter release button mid-way to lock the exposure you have just metered for.

4. Re-compose the shot to the desired angle and composition.

5. Depress the shutter release button fully to take the shot.

Go ahead, try it out. The results can be somewhat interesting.;)

Use mtd 1, method 2 only applies when using spot metering.
