Metal body and Wear-and-Tear: Silver vs. Black

Just wondering if given a choice between silver and black, which would be better for resisting day-to-day wear and tear?

I heard black paint seems to wear out faster and easier than silver finishing? Not scientifically proven or substantiated.

I'm thinking of a compact camera with metal body that one carries with him day-in day-out wherever he goes in his pocket like a wallet.

Black definitely is more obvious to wear and tear. For silver, you'll need to look closely to see any marks

Depends on if they painted it on or anodized it.
