My SD card cannot be read via my laptop.
When I insert that SD card into my PnS digicam, my images can be seen in the cam.

When I tried other cards, they can however be read in my laptop.
I assume that it is my SC card problem?

I need to retrieve all the photos, they are very impt to me.
Is there a solution that any of you can provide to me please?

TIA!

mebbe the SD slot in ur laptop not working?
try a card reader?

:)

My lappy's card slot can read other memory cards, but not the one with the problem.
Having headache + heartache now. (Hi to you, zaren, long time no 'see').

Is your SD card "SDHC" and your laptop card reader is only SD compatible?

usually SDHC would refer to memory of 4gig and above cards.

hihi niece....yeah, long time no see :)
hmm...
try using another laptop, or try using an external card reader in ur usb port? ur sd card could be temperamental, at least ur p&s cammie can still read the card.

this sounds plausible!

I do not have an external card reader.
MY SD card states 'SD card Ultimate 2GB'. Doubt its a SDHC.
Actually, its an old card from 2 yrs ago (last used in 3/4 of 2007)... Do you think this may be the cause of the problem?
I used it recently, cos I thought it was alright, since I could still view the prev images taken through the digicam/
I should have used another memory card....

I will try to read it from the usb port, and update in here again.
Thanks for all the help so far~

Sidenote: If it can still be read via my digicam, means there's still hope that my images can still be retrieved?

hmm try getting the photos by usb cable then :)

I tried with the USB Cable.
The memory card still can't be detected at all.

I can only view the images in the digicam...
I even put Card A in 3 different digicams, it can all be viewed via the digicams, but still cant de detected by the lappy.

Any solutions?

Same prob happened to my friend. I forgot how I solved it. U sure the folders in the SD isn't hidden? What sort of error?

Think she fixed it by dloading the SD into a different PC instead of her laptop.

Just buy a small card reader which can both read SD and CF in case your next camera uses CF.Shouldnt cost you too much

another suggestion....

since ur pics can only be viewed in-camera, perhaps you can borrow or rent a Canon 1D Mk II/III camera (or similar) which has dual SD and CF card slots. then copy ur images from ur "faulty" SD card to a freshly formatted CF card in-camera, then try downloading from the CF card to your lappy.

were the images stored in the mem card or the cam's internal memory?

Not sure if this might helped. I previously had quite a similar problem with my memory card, whereby my cam can read, but not my computer. I tried one of the programs, though i cannot recall which one, and i managed to salvage all my photos and then reformated the memory card straight before using it again.
