Meike is on a budget lens tear. After releasing a fully manual 50mm f/1.2 for under $400, and an autofocus 85mm f/1.8 for less than $200, they just today unveiled an even cheaper lens. The new Meike 25mm f/1.8 for Nikon full-frame mirrorless Z-Mount is just $75.

Spotted by the folks at DPReview, the lens is the latest to be added to the Stills Lens lineup on the Meike Global website.

There’s really very little information available about the lens, but that’s to be expected with a full manual lens like this. Optical construction involves seven elements in five groups, the nine-blade circular aperture goes from f/1.8 to f/16, and the minimum focusing distance measures in at 25cm (~9.8 inches). Not a surprise given the price point, but there is no mention of special lens elements or coatings… what you see is what you get.

Speaking of which, here’s a closer look at the full manual lens:

As with Meike’s recently released 50mm f/1.2 lens, there are zero electronic contacts on the back of the lens, so you won’t be getting any EXIF data and you’ll need to enable “shutter release without lens” in your settings in order to take pictures.

The Meike 25mm f/1.8 is up on the Meike store for the aforementioned price of $75. There’s not much info on the site, but if you want to learn more or pick one up for yourself click here.
