Mega pixel vs print size

if i want a print of A3 size, will a 5MP camera do? or do i need higher resolution for better image??

yes...it's sufficient

Even my 3.2MP PnS digicam can print up to A4 size and it's superbly clear! :thumbsup:

@150DPI, you need 4MP.

depends on the lens and image sensor. different 5MP cameras could capture different amounts of details.

e.g. for 7MP cameras, the ability of the camera to resolve lines at gradually higher resolutions differs:

however, generally speaking, 5MP pics could make pretty decent A3 size prints. just don't look too close though at the fine details ;p
