hello everyone,

i am engaged by a friend to do a photoshoot for a company's opening. its a 2 hour job but i am not sure what are the market rates like.
there will be canopy and music too.

what are the things i should look out for?

i'm new to this and i hope some kind folks here will be able to give me some advice.

thanks!

what was the terms provided by your friend as in what is expected of you and will you be the only photographer there as well as what equipment will you be using?

Since its a company event, make a note of shooting every big shot highlighted and every group shot starring them.

it has about 30 people attending the opening.

currently i have a 350D with kit lens and using various applications to DI photos.

original copy of the photos will be given to the client in DVD format.

roughly how much it should cost in today's market?

my advice....rent a 480EX flash + at least a Tamron 17-50. If you are going to represent the company and important people will be present, leave the kit lens in the bag.

as for how much, ask your friend what kind of pricing they are looking at and see if its enough to cover your time and the gear.
