I would like to know does D90 work with 50mm manual prime lens?

Thanks

Why would it not? So long as it's the right mount. FYI, there must be over 100 "manual prime lenses" out there. Actually giving some detail would help.

Yes. I own and use one on my D90.

To use manual lens on D90, ensure that the mount is AI or AIS.

It should work, but what is the correct amount

If its AI, AIS, lens can mount but no exposure metering. You got to use sunny 16 rule or external meter. Correct focus aided by green dot confirmation light at bottom left of viewfinder. Can check out here Nikon SLR Camera & Lens Compatibility Chart

Mistake.

My lens is 85mm f1.8.
Pre-AI but got it converted to AI by someone in CS.

So I cant meter if using D90.

Thanks
