Was wondering what are the major differences between these 2 lines of tripods? The specs seem very similar.

The center column is not removable for the D(B) line while the column can be substituted with the low angle adaptor for the CL(B) line. The adaptor will allow the tripod to go down close to ground level.

i think you are referring to the catalog. but my 190db comes with the adaptor plate too.

base on their 2004/05 catalog:

"B" means the tripod is black color.

"D" series means the legs extension lock is wing knobs and has no foam rubber leg grips.

"CL" series means the legs extension lock is quick action type and comes with 2 foam rubber leg grips.
