any advices for this trip?

Remote Shutter
Variable ND Filter 2-9

What are the advices especially for sunset,sunrise photography?

The advices are:

Set the lens to infinity.
Set the remote to delay and start shooting at XX timing (check sunrise schedule).
Go to bed and sleep to 10 am.
Wake up and see your beautiful images.

I haven't been to the Maldives, but I've been to other beach resorts. It's very simple really:

- Know the sunrise/set schedule (like what JacePhoto said)

- Get a Grad ND

- Maybe a telephoto if you like the "big sun" type of sunset pictures.

- Don't look at the sun directly if it's very bright (use live view or something)

I am living in Maldives for 2yrs+ nw, at this time the sunset start setting at about 5.30pm
Recently the sunset has been great due to clear sky n good weather

These two days the weather changed. Till today the sea has been rough with strong wind. The sky is grey with heavy storm clouds.
Visitors looking to photograph blue sea and perfect sunset will be disappointed:cry:
