Left at midnight (when missing with about 7½ hours fuel). Now 9.30am. 9½ hours later. They cannot be flying. So if they have not landed anywhere, it is gone case. Lost contact 2 hours after takeoff.

Nope, you have to read the statement. Airlines tend to have buffer, if not you will have instances where pilots have to tell control tower that they MUST land despite heavy traffic because no more fuel. If that were the case, we'd never have any delayed flights because they were made to circle..


At the time of its disappearance, the plane was carrying about 7.5 hours of fuel, Sharuji said.

And the plane lost contact at 2.40 am. That's 10 am.

But it is route with lots of antennae. So if flight has no mishap, someone would have contacted or radar plotted it.

CNN just reported that China authorities confirmed the plane never entered China airspace. So no chance to be still flying now.

Vietnamese authorities now say the reports a signal had been detected were false. “We have been seeking but no signal from the plane yet,” Pham Hien, director of a Vietnam maritime search and rescue co-ordination centre in Vung Tau, told Reuters. “The information on local media about the signal near the Cape Ca Mau was inaccurate,” Pham said.
