Red House.

How about the Spanish fortress or whats left of it. ;)

Edit: Correction it's the Portuguese fortress that was taken over by the Dutch.

jonker street with its antique shops
if u are there over the weekend, check out jonker street at night for the street market... lots of nice food and the vendors are very friendly who oblige with phototaking (so long as you tell them in advance)

There are only fortress build by Portuguese and Dutch. No Espano

Muchas gracias:cool:

Actually all the colonial powers were there. The Dutch, the Portuguese, the Spanish or the British. But who was there first that built the fortress?

Portuguese then Dutch then British. No Spanish conquestidors in this part of the world.:D

Your right, my bad :mad2:
I'm getting my history mixed up.

Afonso de Albuquerque (Portuguese) ordered the building of a fortress that was finished in November 1511.

On 14 January, 1641 the Dutch took possession of the fortress of Malacca.

A refresh of history. The Portuguese came in 1509 but were defeated. Then came again at 1511 and won the records of "Conquering the greatest trading city in asia with <1000 soldiers" ... If i remember correctly. :D
