Making my own DiY ..Pls C&C Thx

Wouldn't that converge all the light?

Try and show here ba. :)

Just curious what is the intention of this DIY project?
You trying to:
a) diffuse the light?
b) create a larger light source?
c) focus the light for (hopefully) better range?
d) etc

I'm not sure how the snoot would work but you definitely need to find something to diffuse the light

I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too :)

To diffuse light and make it 'softer', generally you're talking about making a big light source. Things like softbox, bounce card, etc.
What you're making looks like the shaped cone of a loudhailer.
better range looks possible, but diffused light doesn't seem to be part of the plan.

Anyway, good job for trying out this DIY project! I'm sure it will still come in useful somehow :)

You just need to put good DIY diffusing materials at the front. How about the Daiso chopping board + foam combo?

Yup, this combo is the best one I've used so far. Very soft shadows even with the flash going straight at it top down.

Hmm from the pics, the shadow looks rather harsh, I think you need to diffuse the light further.

Me definitely no macro expert, but I think from the picture below, I do have to agree with spree86 about the harsh shadows.

Though it's mainly referring to studio strobes, the concept of softer light from a larger source at close proximity to the subject probably applies quite appropriately.
