This is very sad, but unfortunately, if the culture is like that, the employers may not even think they are in the wrong.

Think again before going to Middle East looking for work.
The people there got a strange sense. If you are somebody and they know it, they are very courteous.
If you are deemed by them to be so-called "servant class", they can be terribly cruel to you and they don't feel bad at all about it.

actually it happened to my old neighbor :

i was staying at 13th story, a maid climbed in to my balcony from 14th story with a towel !! my brother almost pee his pant coz he just woke up and saw a lady sitting there....then the maid told him her employer hit her...

so we called the police. months later, the news appeared on paper, the neighbor was fined $1000 .....only...because according to the investigation, the neighbor got mental problem...
