but i duno which should i invest, but of course $$ is one of the issue.....
I browse a photoplus magazine today, there hv a good suggestions that for the canon ef 85mmL f.1.2 USM if not wrong....the price is about $2k+++ in Sing Dollar. But i would like to knw,its a really a good lens, should i save $ and go for it? And i hv another question too,the photo quality is it depends on the camera lens or the body itself?im sorry,im still a newbie for the DSLR user....;p

Macro lens are for close-up shots and very close focusing to capture small details. Do you need this lens?
What are you going to use this for? Taking images of bugs? Small detailed product shots? Occasional portraits?

For digital cameras, image quality comes from 70% lens, 30% body.
For film cameas, image quality comes from 97% lens, 3% body.

u askin abt macro lens or prime lens??

Go read up more first on what you really want...

You're still VERY confused.

You are extremely confused. The Canon 85L lens is NOT a macro lens. The Canon 100f2.8 is a macro lens.

TS,

As long as it a L lens, its a good lens. HAhahaha..
Dont worry. Just buy and think of what you wanna shoot later.
Many of us in the forum do that nowadays.

Regards

What kind of photos do you want to take with your camera?

1. Portraits
2. Small objects (i.e. Insects etc...)
3. Landscape
4. Event photos
5. Products
6. Birds / Planes
7. Celestial objects

Knowing your area of interest will help you get along.

why you want a macro lens?

85mm f/1.2 is not macro lens.

if you do not know what you want to buy, and clearly, you are not sure what you are talking about other than a primal urge to buy something, my suggestion is to not buy. read up, until you know what you are talking about.

Haha "primal urge"... Like the way you put it...

This is terrible advice unless it is meant to be sarcastic:rolleyes:
