Macro Lens

Hi,
I would like to know what are the advantages of a a Macro Lens over a close up filter?

I got a Equote of $14 for a +4 and $45 for a Hoya Macro lens. What is rating of the Hoya Macro lens btw? +4? I could not find the specs on the net.

Lastly, would u recommend the hoya macro lens over the canon 250D close up lens? which cost more then 100?

To summarise, can u give your views on Hoya +4, Hoya Macro Lens, Canon 250D?

Here's some info on the macro close-up from the hoya catalog:

Lens of 2 element, 2 group construction..
Has got a diopter rating of +10..

When fitted to a 50mm Std lens, mag of 1:2 is achieved

Hi there, u can try the Hoya achromatic close-up lens +5 costing ard $80+. It shld be equivalent or better than the Canon.
