Macro combo - 105mm + TC 1.4 + Extension Tube 36mm

Hi all,

I have been using 105mm + TC 1.4. Recently, found a set of long lost extension tubes in dry cabinet. :bsmilie:

Thought if i can put them into some good use.

Setup
D300 + Extension Tube (36mm) + TC (1.4) + 105mm Micro

- What does this gives me in terms of magniflying factor?
- So far, I know I will gain 1 stop (or more - which is fine for macro) and lost some IQ due to TC. No sure what else...

Any feedback or advice not to use it?

Additional Magnification = (Extension Tube Length)/(Lens Focal Length)

Well... u do the maths (I don't have my calculator with me).

One thing is... depending on your extension tube, some of them are chipped, while others didn't. So if they are chipped, you have AF confirmation, if not, you lose all AF confirmation. I believe that you would not have autofocus now though, so all focus are manual focus.
