Is there anything to photograph in Macau? Thinking of taking up a Tiger Airways 3D2N Free & Easy package.
it is a wealth of photographic opportunities
probably very underrated in this aspect
mainly buildings though, and the sunsets/sunrises can be beautiful, but unfortunately i didn't get much opportunity to shoot because i always had to head back to the casino area to have dinner with my parents
i think street is also very good, and to me, macau was really safe. i walked around by myself with the city map provided by their tourism board and nothing happened. the locals were also quite friendly.

Go walk around the old Macau. Most of the hotels are pretty boring.
You can bring your camera and photograph all the old stuffs in the shop.
It's called Casa De Cha Long Wa. You can speak to the owner if you can speak Cantonese well. Food is nice there too but their tea is good too. It's a fantastic place for Yum Cha and favourite haunt by local photographers. The owner has a friend who's put's up some nice looking photos in the shop itself. Address is Rua Norte Do Mercado Alm. Lacerda No.3. Tel 853 - 2857 4456. Opening time is 7am - 3pm. (Go early if possible as you may catch some HK stars as well!)
After you leave Casa De Cha Long Wa, go to the wet market which is just next to it. It has a few things to shoot too. Plus you don't see a lot of Wet Market which is red in colour.
Coloane Square is a musrt to go too for their famous Portugese Egg Tarts called Lord Stow's Bakery. There is a famous Portugese restaurant called Restaurant Litoral. Remember to order the famous Duck Rice! Coloane is near the seaside. Strolling down the area in the evening is fantastic. Get some eggs tarts and soya bean and walk out to the nearby jetty, rest your feet and just admire the tranquility and untained simplicity of Coloane village.
St Paul's Ruins you can go lar but boring area as it's flock with billions of tourist but there is a very super old chinese temple worth a visit for some photography.
Wynn Macau Hotel is worth a visit for their exciting Musical Fountain which has some big flames show as well. Timing is every 15 mins with different songs. The main feature is between 7.30-8.30. You can set a tripod in front of the hotel as you may need to use long exposure.
These are some of the best place to see and shoot. The rest is plenty of walking along old streets. Don't worry you will not get lost or get mug as Macau is a safe city. I was there for one week. I would suggest a back pack camera bag as it's a long walk from one end to
another.
So walk and you will see more things. You will not get lost but make sure the hotel that you are staying, bring the name card if you can't speak Cantonese.
Lens to bring......12-24 or 10-20, 85mm, 70-200, 50mm and 105mm.

hacknet - i do not think you have any lens shops in macau.. hong kong might have more luck
didn't see any when i was there though, hrmph
Macau is famous for these 3 things: casinos, portuguese egg tarts and mainland tarts
