The original $149 leather case is redeem from Panasonic SC, not the $15 one!
Just read from ALan Photo website http://www.alanphoto.com.sg/index.html that they r selling at 658 with extra battery. If the xtra battery is original one, then I think the price is good.

Anyway dont worry about the promo. When the Olympus XZ-1 is launched, I am sure Panasonic will counter offer a too-good-to-miss promotion to take away some customers from the XZ-1.

Called MSC, they said they dont sell at 599 without freebies. Seems like ALot of makeup stories here to persuade pple to sell at a very low price. Anyway ZX1 is selling ard 749, a hundred more than pana and somemore review dont received it as good as paper described. Another one to consider is Nikon p7k at 609 at Alan Photo website, or maybe cheaper elsewhere, u can check that out if looking at pricing at this range
