i think this shot took advantage of natural lighting very well. i quite like this piece, the birds seem to be flying out of the 'pigeon holes' we know so well. would love to see more space given to the sky though, but it's fine as it is now for me :)

How did u get the super dark blue colour of the sky?

Easy, go out shooting when the sky is super dark blue that day. There are certains days where sky is bluer, u just need to look up more. This shot is taken in Nov last year.

Nope. Only the normal UV filter, which doesn't make skies bluer.
