I 'm currently looking for a compact digital camera with the following functions,
- 5.0 megapixels
- can take gd quality pictures even at night
- > 3x optical zoom
- Not > $600
- 2.5" LCD screen

Thinking of getting the new LZ3/5 or TZ1 but not too sure if panasonic camera's are gd... Any other recommendations?

Thks in advance... :)

to take good pictures at night, don't look for panasonic, their noise still pretty terrible.
can try F10 or F11 for cleaner and higher ISO performance.
sorry but their recent batches of F10 and F11 have vertical banding problem.
test it out to be sure.

Get the FujiFilm Finepix F11. Lower than S$600, yet better specs than what you're asking for.

you got to rank your priorities. price/higher ISO/optical zoom/Image stabilisation/screen which is most important and decide from there
