Hi Guyz....

Earlier, i did a post on how to capture long exposure and minimize noise with the A1.

Its not a 100% clean image but a noise reduced setting which may at least give a passing mark.

The image was taken at 13sec. @ Shutter Priority (S mode).
The original image is found in the follwing URL.....its a large file (2.7Mb)
if you want to check out the NOISE level.

Sequential shots will slowly increase the blue dots....as the pepper noise...

Well...do share your photos too if the setup work for you......till then...

The EXIF:
Color Space - sRGB
Flash - None
Focal Length - 28mm
ISO - 100
WB - Flourescent
Mode - Shutter Priority
EV - (- 1.3 EV)
Aperture (Av) - f4
Shutter Speed (Tv) - 13sec

Same setting for a 30sec shot is also surprisingly clean.....

sorry but are you shooting through a glass (window)?

Hiee...

Yes...I was shooting through the glass window here in one of the hotels in China.....it was drizzling outside....

The sliding window was permanently locked.....with a screw.....so can't open...

Focus had to be done at manual - infinity....in this shot...

So what do you think of the noise level......? :)

Hi Sulhan,
how do you set the sharpness to +5 when in the setup, there's soft, normal & hard?
edit: I was browsing through and saw another thread of yours, do you mean to set the contrast to +5 and sharpness at +hard? I'll give it a try.

These are my findings:
Shutter Priority 6secs, sRGB, ISO 100, AutoWB.
with +0 contrast = some sample (3.4MB)
with +5 contrast = a lot sample (2.7MB)
with -5 contrast = very very little sample (3.9MB)
Haha thankx Drukh....

I mean CONTRAST @ +5 ...not sharpness...

sorry everyone...a slip-up...

Sulhan

:) Actually its a nice trick that you've shared with us but my result seems kinda opposite of yours. Anyway that's only out of my bedroom window test, I'll try out some night shoots and post my results here. :)
