I'm thinking of getting a Nokia 6510

6510 is good...try not to get those latest colors LCD phones..they jams / hangs.

Yes you have to bring the phone to Nokia Care Centers if you wish to upgrade the firmware. You leave the phone with them and collect it after a couple of hours. Mine is ver04.06 and so far so good though.
