30 is ex ? i think its cheap la....

30/day so its like $900 onli, so if u spoil the camera... i think its a steal for u for damaging a camera that cost 1-2k over and u onli rent it for like $900.....

student or not... still customer renting stuffs out. so its whether if the owner wanna take the risk.

for me. big nono... who knows wad u gg to do with it for 1 mth... or worse.. run away with it....

$30 /day for any camera is darn dirt cheap please.

---

best solution go buy one. u wan to play for 10years also no one bug u....

I think you have to look at it as a context of a student. If saraluna was able to pay that amount, why wouldn't he? He's just trying to get free (or almost free) help.

I think you have to look at it as a context of a lender. If the lender was not able to get that amount? why would he lend it? He's just trying to earn a living and taking a risk.

Don't you have any family members who have a camera? If you want to learn photography, it doesn't have to be a digital camera. If you want however learn digital......then you can also start with a point and shoot digital camera. There are limits to it, but if you know about the limits you may be able to work around it.

If you really want to get your own camera, try to do some summer job......

i think i did state a lens and not a camera
if its 30 per day i may as well buy myself

sry but no offence.
just trying my luck to loan it cheaply.
if there's none then nvm its okie

staying at london already cost a big bomb in my pocket and yea not going there for holiday but for school work purpose so budget is rather tight

well.... more people are more reluctant since u are bringing it to overseas. its not any minor thing anymore...

i think if u want, u can buy a cheap and good manual SLR and shoot flim or slides.... quality better den DSLR and u will not regret having the SLR with u.....

FM2 + 17-35    swee swee ah.....

Saraluna, ask yourself, if you have got the lens, would you lend them to strangers who would bring it overseas? Try borrowing from your close friends. You would have more chances.

What camera and lens are you using now? Are there already limits to your lenses that you would need to borrow/rent lenses? Since you are a "poor" student, just make do with what you have.

Since you mentioned enel3 - it might mean you have the Nikon D50/D70, the kit lens should really serve you well already for most general photography. If you need to get a wider angle, just walk backwards...be creative. You probably won't need more than 1 memory card, if you shoot in Normal Jpeg L size (thats more than 500 photos on a 1Gb card).

I guess you can see the answer is "no". Its a tough world, there are no free lunches. Some sellers (rightly) state that they don't entertain student specials.

Make do with what you have - I expect you have the kit lens at least. That won't be so bad. Don't fret about which photos you can't take because you don't have a wide angle, see how you can use what you have to its maximum ability and/or above everyone's expectations.

thnks for pouring cold water :)

and sad to say. your world is just full of peeps that dun help.
there r nice ppl that will help even strangers. hope u find them someday.
and yes i will help a stranger in need if it is within my capability

lac man
as i say i'm just trying my luck
it doesnt means that i have to get it by any means

thnks to hongsien for offering the help but anyway thanks. :)
i shall just make do with wat i have for now.

reason why i wanna borrow and not buy?
i only have one batt and one memory card.
ticket alone to europe countires cost more about 1.8k
just wan to decrease the chances of having a wasted trip there.
yea a batt n a card is cheap to u but not a student. i can top up my ezy link for 3 months just with that money. may not be something to u but it sure is sth for me

just fyi, one month is rather long for a loan/rent and you will be in london.
that alone rings alarm bells

My suggestion is to use the lens that you have now.
buy another CF/SD card, they are really dirt cheap nowadays,
you do not need to have the fastest speed cards right?

for battery just make sure that it is always fully charged.
I am sure you have access to an electrical outlet, right?

Have a good trip! :)

ya i agree on what u say
lens is not a neccesity yet. i can just make do with what i have
as i been trying to put across again n again. just trying my luck to see if i can get a loan lens cheaply.

batts one is enuff. but u wun know how suay can u be when u seriously need it :bsmilie:
same to memory card. :bsmilie:

just trying to save more to having a nice trip there without starving.
living expenses is real ex there
hope u will understand
;)

do you know that there is a CR2 Battery Holder, MS-D70
it uses disposable CR-2 batteries. I use that as a backup if my battery dies on me and until i can get to a electrical outlet to charge my rechargable batt.

so you might consider that.

As for memory card, S$30 for a 1GB is really cheap, i am sure you can afford $30
just think of it as don't drink when you eat lunch for a month.
not really that difficult.

rechargables r exp
battery die as in really cant use. thats what i mean
;p

hey but where u gonna buy that 1gb for $30?
can consider buying that
i dun need the speed but just as a backup
thanks

For your storage problem maybe u can go to a photo developing shop over there and get them to burn into a CDR/DVD for small fee.

i think you misunderstand me.

you can use disposable 3 x CR-2 battery with the
CR2 Battery Holder - Nikon MS-D70 Battery holder - see link
http://www.nikon.com.sg/productitem.php?pid=205-0ca406f074

List price is S$16 - the shops might be cheaper
this is to be used as a back up plan only, you still need to charge your battery every night to be sure it does not run out of juice.

While out in the field and the EN-EL3 battery runs down, you can use three CR-2 batteries, put them in the MS-D70 and insert this in the D70 and continue shooting.

for the memory card @ $30 you can go to Sim Lim Square or

http://forum.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=209492

for the faster Transcend CompactFlash Hi-Speed80x
512MB @S$30 or 1GB @S$48
