My little Chris has just started on cereal.

All comments are welcomed. Shots were taken with D50, 50mm @f1.8. Just wondering, should the mummy's hand on the left of #1 be cropped away?

Saw your pictures too, what lens did you use?

The shadows and the highlights in the eyes are dead giveaways when direct flash is used. Did you try bouncing?

No, no flash was used. Picture was taken in the day, with the celling florescent light turned on instead.

In shot 2, i would show the mum;s face rather than just the back of the head (ie. hair). But have this problem too, mostly just focusing on the kid and not really the composition of the picture until you review the pics.

Thanks, db, for the comments. I still haven't got the hang of cropping, perhaps the picture will look better with the black portion (hair) removed?
