Lighting techniques at city hall 18 July 2010

Dear People,

I will be explaining simple lighting techniques for portraits at Esplanade bridge area on
Sunday morning, 8am, 18 july 2010.
These may include umbrella and other light modification tools.
Location to meet up is at Cityhall Macdonalds 8am.
We will move off at 8.30am to shoot. Maybe end around 11am.
If weather is not good, we will retreat to Esplanade basement area underpass next to City Link to do simple off-camera flash techniques.

Later on in the day, I will be going to Tiong Bahru Plaza as there is a Lolita Dress contest from 1pm onwards. I will be taking portraits of people there using the one flash technique.

Anyone is welcome to join in the lighting techniques session.
There is no restriction in the number of people.
I will not be taking attendance on the day, just call me or anyone with me that day to confirm location.

Equipment :
1. Dslr or point and shoot cam ( makes no difference for outdoor techniques )
2. Flash (optional unless weather bad then learn off camera flash techniques)
3. Tripod (optional unless weather bad then learn off camera flash techniques)
4. Umbrellas ( translucent white best, get from Daiso superstore )

Hi, can u post a photo of the umbrella online? Coz i curious, how translucent is translucent?

Also, if it's outdoor, will flash actually play a big part in creating lighting effects?
