seems like your interests are very varied....
for the things you listed that you like to shoot, you would need like the full range of the lenses that the manufacturer is selling...
from macro to wide angle to telephoto....

if money is no issue, then get the respective lens to do the jobs...
else, you might want to determine what you really like before investing your money on the lenses that you are most likely going to use.

if you are serious into photography, then getting the pro lenses in the first place might be good.... you do not need to keep upgrading...
but wallet will hurt a lot more...

but i cant afford to buy exp lenses in the moment of time

hi all clubber,i still thinking which lens to choose for my cityscapes and wildlife photoshooting use... any suggestion from any of the pros out there for both 70-200mm and 200-500mm lenses for cityscapes and wildlife shoots? i still thinking which lens to invest on any how much are both lenses cost? where can i buy them cheaper?

what about tamron 70-300mm,75-300mm what is the different?

I do not know which brand are you referring but one thing for sure. A zoom macro is close up lens. A prime macro is a true macro. Meaning zoom will never allow 1:1 ratio. Anything that is above 1 we consider close up (esp. 1:1.1) I consider 1.4:1 1.5:1 2:1 as super macro. For that you need a TC.

hi there i would like to know whether my choices of lenses are good for most range and styles of photography?

Tamron 11-18mm -Ultra-wide angle lens for landscapes/buildings/cityscapes
Tamron 200-500mm-Telephoto lens for faraway landscapes and scenery
Sony 50mm-prime lens for portraiture
Tamron 180mm-Macro lens for insects,plants and small subjects

did i covered most ranges and styles of photography?
Are my choices of lenses not the best but good enough for those shoots?
any suggestions out there are friendly welcome

I have noticed that you had started few threads similiarly asking lenses and cameras.

Can you tell us what set up you are using currently??

If you are new and about to get a DSLR. I suggest you to get body + kit lens. It will good enough for you to learn and explore what you really interested in.... When that time comes, you won't be asking forumers all types of lenses as you already know what you want specifically

It is also a lot more beneficial for all (other posters and readers) if you limit yourself to ONE question per thread which will be followed through. No point mixing 200-500 telephoto zoom with a fisheye lens.
If you haven't noticed yet then let me point you to the Price Guide section where you can find a) the prices of the lenses you are asking about and b) the shops selling them for this particular price. In the Price Guide section and also in Consumer Corner you can find further details of these shops, together with other shops (e.g. for 2nd hand). Please do your homework. Lens reviews can easily be found using Google and the simple search string '[lens manufacturer] [lens type] review'. The same goes for many other basic questions: Google and you will have plenty to read. The more specific your questions are the better the answers will be. Just 'fish eye' will rather return topics about the visual capacities of sea food.

I hope you have Sony camera, otherwise the Sony lens will not be very useful. Have you checked that those Tamron lenses are also offered with Sony mount? What home work and research have you done so far to find answers? We will not tell you how and where to spend your money and which lenses to get, there can only be broad recommendations based on which you have to make decisions. There are more lenses that can be used for each style: 50mm can be used for landscape, 180mm can be used for portrait, 18mm gives very special portraits .. etc. It all depends on your style, the intended outcome and the shooting conditions.

I agree with what the others has said...

Firstly, if you are just starting out, there's no point in buying so many lenses. The reason is that, you probably won't be able to fully appreciate these lenses, no offense.

Start out with your kit, find out what it can do and what are its limitations. When you truly understand the limitations and feel that you need to get around those limitations, thats when you need to get yourself new gear.

Google is your best resource, as well as many photography blogs. You'll learn more from reading than just plain asking from the forums.

Do a google search for "Fisheye lens". FYI, DO NOT buy the screw-on type unless you want to get screwed by the salesperson. Get a proper fisheye lens if that's what you want.

70-200 and 200-500 are totally different ranges. And what wildlife are you trying to capture? The birds in the park? Penguins in Antarctica??

As for cityscapes, what do you consider a "cityscape"? Why do you think you need a long telephoto lens? Are you even aware of the difference between wideangle and telephoto?

As for price, please do some research on your own! We have a priceguides section, and if it's not listed there, go visit the shops yourself and canvass prices.

one is a true macro offering 1:1 magnification. The other is just a telephoto lens with a very short MFD, thus creating a macro-like effect.

You can use any lens to shoot any thing you like.
It really depends on what effect you are attempting to get.
Having said that, the best lens is the kit lens for discovering what you really like to shoot.
Do of course buy more lens once you find the kit lens limiting your shooting
