Lens status error in Pen

Hi veterans
Lately my pen epl2 displayed "check status of lens" when I zoom in ard 32-40mm. Anyone had encounter this prob?

Checked with Google? Sounds like a problem with the flexible ribbon cable inside, occurs with other lenses as well.
