Lens kit f/3.5-5.6 question

Hi,

My Canon stock lens EF-S18-55mm is stated as f/3.5-5.6. At what condition one can
utilise it at 3.5 and when it becomes 5.6?

Turn to AV mode, using 18mm (widest) and try reducing the av to the lowest...
Then zoom to 55mm and try reducing it to the lowest again.. try taking pics at different av (same ISO) and compare your pic...

must let u explore your lens... hahaz...

at 55mm, lowest A num is 5.6

yep. the max aperture is f/3.5 at 18mm. and 55mm the max is f/5.6.
so there is no way to use a f/3.5 at 55mm.

unless u get a better lens.
