You will find advise that ranges from wide angle primes to kit lenses to 50mms to mid range zooms to short macro primes to mid tele macro lenses. It all depends on what you're shooting, on what sort of body, where, under what sort of conditions, and how and what results you need or want. If you could be more specific, members would be able to offer more focused advise.
