Hi, I am thinking if Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8D or f/1.4 is suitable for food photography? I suppose it requires macro.... so I'm not sure.

Any recommendation for macro lens?

Key in 'Lens for Food Photography ' in the search function. Lots of previous threads.

You will find advise that ranges from wide angle primes to kit lenses to 50mms to mid range zooms to short macro primes to mid tele macro lenses.

It all depends on what you're shooting, on what sort of body, where, under what sort of conditions, and how and what results you need or want.

If you could be more specific, members would be able to offer more focused advise. :)

i once used a tamron 90mm f/2.8 marco, i find the distance too long.
cos i like to look into the viewfinder, then adjust the food a bit then check again...

i'm hoping to get a 60 marco for it
