I just sent my lens for checking and the lens technician said tt fogging is more jialat than fungus and is very difficult to clean (must go polish the elements), just a few questions here i want to clarify before forking out cash:

1. I am wondering if it is worth it to clean or shd i just chuck it into a dry cabi and hope it wun spread?
2.Another of my lens the glass elements changed into an opaque milky colour, is this fog too?
3.What is the cause of fogging, is it also due to fungus or just deterioration of the glass due to age/moisture?
4.Will it spread to other lens like fungus spores does?

TIA

1) If it's a premium lens, out-of production etc and re-polishing/cleaning/coating makes more sense, only you can decide if it's worth the cost as oposed to replacing an element(s) if available, or if it's a newer and/or not-so premium lens, would it make more sense to get a replacement?

2) Sound like it.

3) Several theories, with long term condensation being the prevalent belief (according to discussions in a Leica FAQ

4) Doesn't sound like it could, if #3 is correct

Hope this helps.
