AF - auto focus
S - silent wave motor = silent and fast focus
G - lens with no apeture ring
D - lens with apeture ring
ED - extra low dispersion glass
IF - internal focus = u turn the focus ring, but the length of the lens barrel doesnt grow longer and the lens front doesnt rotate
VR - vibration reduction
basically something like that...did i make any error?

G - lens with no apeture ring --> what is apeture ring?

ED - extra low dispersion glass --> is it more durable?

apeture ring - for example, on ur d50 kit lens, there is only one ring for u to turn to zoom in and out rite? and if u wan to change ur apeture lets say from f3.5 to f8, u gota turn the command dial on ur d50 camera rite?
but some lenses have a apeture ring on the lens for u to change the apeture by turning a ring on the lens (besides the zoom ring), and dun need to use the camera body..
taken from Nikon Singapore website, u can see 2 rings on the 2nd pic for the 80-200mm lens rite?

extra low dispersion glass - not say more durable, but it helps to reduce chromatic abberation a lot.. those thing like purple fringing..

basically..the more letters u see.. the more expensive it gets... :sticktong

D - lens with apeture ring - only this one...

D lens is meant for allowing the computation of distance for flash usage.
