Hi, i am a newbie in photography and i got a d60. I wanted to get a 18-200mm lens but due to money constraints, i am unable to get the nikkor 18-200mm. Therefore i would like to ask if what other suggested lens are there, maybe tamron or sigma. However, I do not really know which one lens model is compatiable with d60 (with auto-focus) after looking at the marketplace at clubsnap.com.

Hence, i would really appreciate if someone can explain on how to select lens, not only 18-200mm lens but also how to choose from tamron and sigma ones. Thanks!!

Is there any reasons why you do not want to stick with your kit lens? I mean, they does a pretty darn good job anyway:dunno:

I see, why not get 18-55 and 55-200 (both are kit lenses btw) instead? It cost much lesser. Just that you will have to bring 2 lenses. And oh, you can find out which tamron/sigma lenses are able to autofocus with D60 using google. Try not to rely on the forum too much

THose with built in motors willa uto focus on D60, BIM (Built in motor) for tamron and HSM (hypersonic motor) for sigma. GO look for more informations.

Get 18-200 if you have the budget since its VR is better and so is it's build.
