I am using a D70s for a start but not sure whether the Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED is a good combination for my DSLR?

Cheers....need advise

its a tele zoom lens...
on 55mm u wont be able to take wide shots.
55-200 is usually used with 18-55
unless u have 18-55 or other wide angle lens, i suggest u consider the following
18-70/18-55/18-105/18-135
for starters

If you're not sure, then you probably don't absolutely need it.

Well it depends what are u gonna shoot.if i want the range of 55-200 get a vr version coz its better built better quality and vr is important when using tele

Well,

1st you need to understand ur current set-up:

1. What are you lacking?
2. What do you need?
3. What kind of grade of lens do you need?
4. A need for VR? or no need?

These are the question you need to ask urself when deciding on whether to purchase the 55-200mm. Of course, before asking urself these question, you mus be sure of what you are going into. i.e. planespotting? portraits? birding? etc.

Cowz.

Now then I understand more.......thanks for ur kind time and advice.

Very useful.

Cheers.

Thank you once again to my Bros help .
